That’s right, my total balcony remodel is complete! I’ve been sharing sneak peeks on my Instagram page, but I’m so excited to share the finished product with you all today!

I fell in love with this World Market Praiano Outdoor Bar Table and Stools earlier this spring when I was browsing around online for a new table and stools for my balcony.

Having a wrap around balcony with beautiful San Diego views is amazing, but it’s also rather difficult to furnish! Instead of having a traditional square or rectangle shaped balcony, my balcony consists of two sides that are long and narrow.

When I decided to redecorate this spring, I was surprised at how difficult it was to find an outdoor bar table that was tall enough to come up to the railing, yet also small enough to fit on a narrow balcony. When I saw this table on WorldMarket.com I immediately fell in love! Not only did it fit perfectly with the dimensions of my balcony, it was absolutely beautiful and affordable!

I couldn’t stop there though, I saw the matching Praiano Outdoor Occasional Bench and I had to have it! I hurried out to check the measurements of the other side of my balcony and it was a perfect fit!

Talk about cozy! I added a few gorgeous World Market Outdoor Throw Pillows for a pop of color and extra coziness and I actually considered sleeping out there the first night I had it, haha!

Now that I had found the perfect furniture to dine, drink and relax on my balcony, it was time to decorate! In addition to the pillows I added two matching Orange & Ivory Bungalow Mats under the couch and table. They add beautiful color to the balcony and are so comfy to walk on with bare feet… because shoes are so overrated 😉

I topped the bar table with beautiful Cutout Lanterns filled with Flameless LED Candles that add a lovely flickering light, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony in the evenings!

I added a Baltic Blue Drum Stool to the corner of the balcony for even more color, and to use for additional seating or as a side table while relaxing on the couch.

To finish it off, I added World Market’s Metal Party Tub and Stand to fill with ice and beverages, so that I literally never have to leave the balcony 😉

Grilled Fish Taco Recipe

Now, of course, one of my favorite things to do on the balcony is grill, so to celebrate the completion of my beautiful newly redecorated balcony, I grilled up some delicious fish tacos!

I created a slightly spicy cilantro, lime, jalapeño marinade for the fish, then grilled it up on my new Mini BBQ Grill from World Market!

The fish was so flavorful, it was hard not to eat it all before it actually made it’s way into a taco!

Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos Ingredients

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chipotle chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 jalapeno (minced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro leaves (chopped)
  • 1 lb mahi mahi
  • 8 small corn tortillas

Toppings

  • 2 avocados (diced)
  • 1 cup cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 cup pico de gallo

Whisk the olive oil, lime juice, lemon juice, chipotle powder, cumin, salt, jalapeno, garlic and cilantro together in a small bowl.

Place the fish in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the fish.

Place in the refrigerator to marinate for 15 minutes.

Preheat the grill to a medium temperature.

Remove the fish from the refrigerator and grill, skin side down, for 10-15 minutes.

Grilled Cilantro Lime Jalapeño Mahi Mahi Recipe

Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes. Use a fork to lightly pull the fish right off the skin.

Place the tortillas on the grill for 20 seconds. Fill the tortillas with the fish and top with the avocado, cabbage and pico de gallo.

I drizzled a little sriracha on top, because, well, I love sriracha!
