This weekend is the 4th of July and I couldn’t be s’more excited (see what I did there 😉 ) to head to Houston to visit my sweet 90 year old Nana and the rest of my fam!
With the holiday weekend quickly approaching I wanted to throw one more patriotic recipe in the mix!
I began to think of recipe ideas with strawberries and blueberries, and immediately decided that I wanted to grill them.
I’ve been obsessed with grilling everything for the last month, including strawberries, which I tossed on the grill for Grilled Strawberry Lemonade, YUM!
S’Mores have been all the rage lately on Pinterest, and after picking up a handy S’Mores Grilling Set at World Market, I knew that Grilled Berry S’Mores were happening!
- 18-24 blueberries
- 6 large strawberries
- 12 large marshmallows
- 3 oz dark chocolate
- 12 graham cracker squares
Preheat the grill to medium.
Place the blueberries, strawberries and marshmallows on skewers.
Place the marshmallow skewers on the side of the grilling set. If you don’t have the grilling set, you can simply hold the marshmallows over the grill on a skewer for 3-4 minutes or until lightly browned.
Divide the chocolate across 6 of the graham cracker squares. (I used Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, which I loved!)
Place the chocolate topped graham crackers on top of the grilling set, or without the grilling set, place them on the top rack of the grill so that they’re not directly on the heat. Remove after 3-5 minutes.
Place the strawberries and blueberries on the grill for 3-5 minutes, rotating once.
Place one grilled strawberry and 3-4 grilled blueberries on top of the graham cracker covered with chocolate, then cover with two warm marshmallows, sandwich with another square of graham cracker and dig in!
The grilled berries give these tasty summer treats even more flavor and add natural sweetness!
My roommates exact words were, “Oh my gosh, I could have eaten 6 of those!”
My response was, “you have no idea how hard it was for me not to!”
What a perfect addition to 4th of July, a tasty dessert, made on the grill, that’s red, white and blue! Check, check and check!
