While usually I don’t mess with perfection, I was inspired to add bacon to my famous Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe to take to an annual Comic Con party hosted by two of my very best friends, Joe and Nicolle.
I’m pretty sure that Joe’s three favorite things in the world are his wife Nicolle (first, obviously) followed by bacon and buffalo sauce!
Now, you see why we’re friends, right?!
I told Joe that I would bring him a “Joe Inspired” recipe to the party and this is what I showed up with!
I figured that today was the perfect day to share this recipe with you all because it’s “National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day” after all!
Well, technically if you google “National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day” there’s a discrepancy whether it is today, August 4th or May 15th.
Either way, there’s never a bad day to indulge in a decadent chocolate chip cookie filled with nutella and bacon!
- 2 cups flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¾ cup butter (at room temperature)
- ¼ cup nutella
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup bacon (cooked & crumbled)
Preheat the oven to 325°.
Combine the flour, salt and baking powder in a small bowl.
In a large bowl, cream the butter, Nutella, brown and white sugars together.
Beat in the vanilla, egg and egg yolk. Add the flour mixture.
Combine well, then hand mix in the chocolate chips and bacon.
Place large rounded tablespoons of dough on a baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Crispy bacon inside of a chewy, Nutella chocolate chip cookie, OMG it really doesn’t get any better than that!
These cookies were gobbled up at the party as fast as you can say “Nutella Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies”!
