Tacos! One of my favorite things to put recipe twists on! Whether it’s Taco Spaghetti, Taco Soup or Taco Dip, I love finding new & different ways to eat tacos!

The Taco Ring was introduced to me when I was 12 years old and my Mom took me to a Pampered Chef party. (And people wonder why I love cooking so much!) We made taco rings at the party and the recipe instantly became a favorite at the Bond house!

Over the years I’ve put my own spin on the taco ring, with a buffalo chicken version and a breakfast version

For this recipe, I kept it classic, but added two of my favorite taco mix-ins, onions and bell peppers!

Homemade Taco Seasoning

Make your own taco seasoning at home to use on chicken or ground beef tacos, in taco soup or taco spaghetti! It’s easy to triple the recipe and store it in a mason jar in the pantry until ready to use. This recipe is mild, gluten free, preservative free and Whole 30 compliant!

Homemade taco seasoning in bowl with spoon

I’ve been making this homemade taco seasoning for years. I use it in Taco Soup, Buffalo Taco Spaghetti, Taco Croissants, simple ground beef tacos and so many other recipes!

I always make a big batch to keep on hand, along with my homemade French Onion Dip Mix and Fajita Seasoning (equal parts chili powder, paprika, cumin and sea salt).

The seasoning mixes are stored in half pint mason jars in the pantry, so they’re always ready to use when I need them for a recipe.

Doing Dishes = HATE!

The one pot meal phenomenon is alive and well in my house, because one pot = one dish to clean = happy Whitney 🙂

I’ve been making this One Pot Mexican Rice for years. It’s one of my Moms favorite recipes on the blog and it’s an awesome side dish for tacos, enchiladas or fajitas.

A few weeks ago I had the idea to turn it into a complete meal by adding chicken right into the dish.

While it’s true that I have only ever worked a “9-5” corporate job for three months of my life, I did spend a lot of time in college, like 7 years. During my time in college, I spent long days on campus and got so sick of eating at the same sandwich shop every day, but bringing my lunch meant, basically the same thing, bringing a sandwich or salad, every day!

I was always on the look out for something new, delicious and nutritious that I could bring to school with me, and make in just a couple of minutes, only using a microwave.

Now, I may not be in school anymore, but there are still those days where I need a go-to 5 minute lunch option when I’m running around and too busy to cook anything, and that’s where my friends at Minute® Ready to Serve Rice and Chicken of the Sea come in!

Both Minute Ready To Serve Rice cups and Chicken of the Sea Salmon pouches are wholesome, delicious ways to spice up your lunch routine!

Chili Lime Rice & Shrimp Taco Salad

Mexican rice & chili lime shrimp kick up the flavor in this restaurant style taco salad recipe, that’s so easy to make at home!

Chili Lime Shrimp & Rice Taco Salad Recipe

Last weekend my Dad snapchatted me a picture whipping up Chipotle Lime Chicken Fajita Skewers and Mexican Rice, with the recipes from my blog pulled up in the background.

I know what you’re thinking, yes, my Dad is on Snapchat, and yes, my Mom is on Snapchat, and yes, they’re 60 years old! This is the direct influence of having a daughter that’s a social media enthusiast and professional food blogger. Every time my parents come to visit, I give them tutorials on the latest social media channel. They get on it and suddenly I’m getting snaps from food truck festivals, football games and road trips with geotags and Snapchat filters. The moral of this story is, my parents are not normal parents, they’re cool parents! (Mean Girls reference, anyone?!)

I might not be as cool as my parents, but I do post a lot of food (shocker, I know!) travel and general shenanigans on Snapchat, so feel free to add me, WhitneyMBond, and join the party!

Now that you know all about my parents sick Snapchat game, let’s get to cooking! 😉
