Ingredients
4
tbsp
butter
2
bartlett pears
core removed & thinly sliced
2
tbsp
brown sugar
1
round sourdough bread loaf
7
oz
round brie cheese
2
tbsp
honey
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Place the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat.
Once the butter has melted, add the pears and brown sugar.
Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pears are caramelized.
Meanwhile, slice the top ½ inch off of the round of sourdough bread.
Cut a circle the size of the brie from the middle of the sourdough loaf, being careful not to cut through to the bottom of the loaf.
Place the brie in the middle of the loaf.
Top with the caramelized pears, then drizzle with the honey.
Place on a baking dish and cover with the top slice of bread.
Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and slice the top piece of bread into cubes to serve with the brie for dipping.
Cut slits every inch along the edge of the bread bowl, for easy pulling apart and dipping.
