Make your own homemade bagel chips, in the oven or an air fryer, with this easy recipe! Serve the crunchy chips with your favorite dips, cheese spreads or soups. It's a great way to use up stale bagels and make a delicious snack!
Use a serrated knife, or bread knife, to slice the bagels in half, through the top, not through the middle. This will create two "C shapes" that you'll then slice into ⅛ inch slices. Each bagel should give you about 48 slices to turn into chips.
Arrange the bagel slices in a single layer on a baking sheet, or in an air fryer basket. If using an air fryer, you'll have to do this in batches. If using the oven, depending on how big your baking sheet is, you might have to use two baking sheet.
Spray the bagel slices evenly with cooking spray and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
Bake the bagel chips in a preheated 350°F oven for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
Or air fry the bagel chips at 350°F for 4 minutes, flip and cook for an additional 2-4 minutes, or until the bagel chips are brown and crispy.
Notes
If using another flavor of bagel, like cinnamon raisin, blueberry or onion, refer to the blog post above for seasoning ideas.
Store the bagel chips in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 weeks. Make sure they’ve cooled completely before storing them, and be sure to store them in a cool, dry place. Avoiding any moisture will keep them nice and crispy.
