Al Pastor Seasoning Blend
My homemade Al Pastor Seasoning is an easy way to bring bold, authentic flavor to Mexican al pastor, right in your own kitchen, no spit needed! Use it to season pork, chicken, or even steak for a flavor-packed meal that’s perfect for tacos, bowls, nachos, or burritos.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup chipotle chili powder
- ¼ cup guajillo chili powder
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 2 tablespoons ground annatto, or paprika
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Store in an airtight container in the pantry for up to 6 months.
Notes
- To add sweetness: add 1 tablespoon brown sugar to the seasoning.
- To add spice: add 1 tablespoon dried arbol chili powder, or cayenne pepper.
- This recipe makes 18 tablespoons of seasoning. I recommend using 2 tablespoons of seasoning per pound of meat.
