Caprese Veggie Burger Sliders
These flavorful veggie burgers combine garbanzo beans, tomatoes and basil, with chia and hemp seeds, for a healthy, vegetarian slider recipe.

can diced tomatoes

can garbanzo beans

drained and rinsed

garlic

fresh basil
Serve with:

fresh mozzarella cheese

Hawaiian rolls

or lettuce wraps for gluten free

Instructions
Place the Qi’a in a small bowl. Pour the tomatoes over the cereal and set it aside.
Place the garbanzo beans in a food processor with the garlic and basil. Blend until all ingredients are combined well.
In a large bowl, combine the tomato soaked Qi’a with the pureed garbanzo bean mixture and hand mix with a spoon.
Form the mixture into 18 slider burger patties.
Place on a greased grill pan or cast iron skillet on the stovetop over medium heat. Cook for 5-7 minutes per side.
Before removing from the heat, place a small piece of mozzarella cheese on top of each slider. Allow to melt slightly, then place on a roll.
Spread a spoonful of pesto on the top of the roll. Place the top roll on the slider and dig in.
