This Chipotle Honey Little Smokies recipe is an easy Crock Pot appetizer made with a sweet, smoky, spicy sauce. Perfect for parties, game day, or holiday gatherings!
Pour the sauce from the blender over the smokies in the slow cooker. Toss to make sure the sauce coats all of the little smokies.
Cook in the slow cooker on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours.
Turn the slow cooker to the warm function for up to 6 hours.
Notes
You can also make this recipe quickly on the stove. Simply blend up the sauce, then add the little smokies and sauce to a pot on the stove over medium-high heat. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-15 minutes before serving.
The sauce can be made up to 5 days in advance and stored in the fridge until you're ready to cook the little smokies. This is what I did for my birthday party and it worked out great! Prep time was literally 2 minutes on the day of the party.
Store any leftover little smokies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can reheat them for 90 seconds in the microwave, or in a pot on the stove for 4-5 minutes.
You can also freeze the prepared little smokies for up to 6 months. Make sure they've cooled completely, then place them in a freezer-safe bag and into the freezer. Defrost in the fridge for 24 hours, then pour them back in a Crock Pot on low for 2-3 hours to heat them up.
