Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Slice a loaf of bread into 1 inch, ¾ inch or ½ inch cubes.
In a large bowl, toss the bread cubes with the olive oil until coated.
Add the salt, black pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasoning to the bowl, and toss until the bread cubes are coated in the seasoning.
Arrange the bread cubes in an even layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Place in the oven and bake for 5 minutes, toss and bake for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
Cut the bread cubes to the same size
and make sure they're in an even layer on the baking sheet so that they cook evenly,
Store the croutons in an airtight container at room temperature, in a cool, dry place, like the pantry, for up to
1 week.
