OMG I can’t believe the beginning of May will be here this week! It’s about this time each year when I realize that it’s almost pool/lake/beach season and I have been lagging on my running for the last few months.
Time to step up the work outs and finish them off with a delicious, healthy, protein packed smoothie!
I made this strawberry smoothie after a run a couple of weeks ago and posted a picture of it on Instagram (by the way, are you following me on Instagram? I post lots of fun LLB behind-the-scenes pics, as well as pictures of coffee, champagne, and of course, lots and lots of food!)
Any-who, after I posted the picture someone asked me for the recipe, so I decided that I should add it to LLB to share it with the world!
- 1 cup strawberries (sliced)
- ¼ cup almond butter
- ½ cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp raw honey
- 1 tbsp flax seed
- 1 tbsp protein powder
- ½ cup ice cubes
Add all of ingredients to a blender. Blend on high until smooth.
Pour into a glass and slurp up the goodness!
This is totally my new favorite smoothie recipe. It’s slightly sweet, healthy and refreshing after a nice, long run (which I need to be doing more of!) Seriously, how is it almost May?
