Gluten Free Blueberry Oatmeal Bars

Starbucks Blueberry Oatmeal Bars are recreated in this easy gluten free recipe. These Oatmeal Bars are a delicious treat, great for breakfast or a sweet snack!

Blueberry oatmeal bars cut into squares, sitting on wood cutting board with fresh blueberries

I originally shared this recipe 5 years ago and these delicious bars have been a hit ever since!

My brother was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2011. At that time he asked me to transform some of his favorite foods into gluten-free recipes.

Over the years, I’ve made him Gluten Free Orange Chicken and Gluten Free General Tso’s Chicken. These were a couple of his Chinese food favorites that he couldn’t eat anymore after going gluten free.

I’ve also made him Gluten Free Nutella Brookies and Gluten Free Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcakes. These sweet treats are perfect for birthdays, holidays and fulfilling any chocolate cravings!

Back in college, he used to work at Starbucks and loved their Blueberry Oat Bars. So of course I created a gluten free version for him! I served these oatmeal bars at his baby shower and always make them when he’s visiting me in San Diego.

They’re sweet enough to be a dessert and really delicious when topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! They’re also filled with so many vitamin-packed blueberries, you could totally get away with eating them for breakfast!

It’s a super easy recipe that can be prepped in just 15 minutes!

When it comes to holidays, I always think about my Mom. She loves to decorate, celebrate and bake for every holiday!

Growing up, I was always the kid taking some kind of “holiday themed” treat to school.

I guess you could say that translated to my adult life, because I now feel the need to make a themed treat for every holiday. Well that and the encouragement of the almighty Pinterest! 😉

Skin Boosting Blueberry Avocado Smoothie

This gluten free & vegan blueberry avocado smoothie recipe combines ingredients that help firm the skin and offset the free radical aging process!

When it comes to getting a little older day by day, working a little harder day by day and sleeping a little less day by day, I need a little help when it comes to keeping my skin looking young, fresh and wrinkle-free (and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone on this!)

On a recent visit to see my beautiful, talented and super sweet esthetician, Elizabeth Rabena, I asked her about things I could do to improve those annoying circles under my eyes. Seriously it’s like one day I woke up and was no longer 22, how did that happen? Haha!

She recommended incorporating more turmeric in my diet to help with the dark circles.

Blueberry Almond Pound Cake

Fresh blueberries and almond extract are added to my Grandma Meme’s easy pound cake recipe for one seriously delicious dessert!

Blueberry Pound Cake

One of my Grandma Meme’s go-to dessert recipes when I was a little girl was pound cake.

I can picture it right now, sitting in it’s covered glass cake stand on the middle of her kitchen table.

Growing up in Oklahoma, my grandma was the kind of grandma that didn’t just make dessert for special occasions. Well unless you consider every meal a special occasion, which I do because eating is pretty much my favorite thing!

We had milkshakes and cookies and cakes and pies. Oh the life of a child growing up across the street from a southern grandma. Oh yes, it was so good!

Roasted Blueberry Tomato Quinoa Salad

As a food blogger, whenever a holiday rolls around, you have one goal in mind, come up with something that’s festive, delicious and hasn’t already been done. And for me, something that doesn’t just involve throwing food dye in everything to make it color coordinate to the holiday.

Last week I shared my recipe for Gluten Free Dessert Cups that are naturally red, white and blue, and perfect for the 4th of July, but I still kept the holiday in the back of my mind over the last week to see if any more brilliant ideas would hit me.
