Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 Hershey’s Hugs Candies

Instructions

Pre-heat the oven to 325°F.

Combine flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda in a small mixing bowl and set aside.

In a large bowl mix together melted butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.

Combine an egg with the other wet ingredients. Add in food coloring, vanilla and vinegar.

After the wet ingredients are combined, add in the dry ingredients and mix well.

When the dough is ready, roll a heaping tablespoon into a ball then roll in powdered sugar and place on a baking stone or parchment lined baking sheet.

Bake the cookies for 12-14 minutes.

  • Add the dry ingredients and mix until a solid dough forms.
  • After the dough is ready, roll a heaping tablespoon into a ball then roll in the powdered sugar and place on a baking stone or parchment lined baking sheet. Repeat to make all of the cookies.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes.
  • After the cookies come out of the oven, immediately place a Hershey hug or kiss in the middle of the cookie and allow it to melt partially into the cookie.
