Hazelnut Brazilian Brigadeiro

As many of you are probably aware, the World Cup begins in Brazil in just two weeks!

To prepare for the event, I partnered with Diamond Nuts to make a traditional Brazilian treat with my own little twist!

Brazilian Chocolate Truffles

The Brazilian Brigadeiro is a chocolate bonbon or truffle that is typically coated in nuts, candies or sprinkles.  I added a little Hazelnut spread to the traditional recipe, then coated the truffles in Diamond Hazelnuts to make a delicious chocolate hazelnut treat, perfect for enjoying while watching the World Cup!

Brazilian Brigadeiro Ingredients

Ingredients

Add the first four ingredients to a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Brazilian Brigadeiro Recipe

Mix together and continue stirring for 10 minutes.

Brazilian Brigadeiro Recipe

Remove from the heat and set aside.

Allow to cool and thicken for 20 minutes.

Use a small spoon to scoop out the chocolate.  Butter the palms of your hands and roll the chocolate into app. quarter sized balls.

Roll the balls in the chopped hazelnuts.

  • 5 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp hazelnut spread
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup Diamond of California Chopped Hazelnuts

Instructions
