Blackened Grilled Salmon

A combination of blackening spices coat this delicious, gluten free grilled salmon recipe topped with homemade lemon herb compound butter.
One of my favorite things to eat during the summer is salmon. This delicious fish provides so many health benefits, I always feel good about eating it!
Blackening seasonings are delicious on fish, they give it a nice little spice and so much flavor!
For this recipe, I topped the fish with a little Lemon Herb Compound Butter for even more flavor, and a creamy, cool addition to the spicy blackened salmon!
This recipe is so simple, and perfect for summer BBQs!
Blackened Grilled Salmon Ingredients
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 lb salmon
Lemon Herb Compound Butter Ingredients
- ½ cup butter (room temperature)
- 2 lemons (zested)
- ½ bunch dill (finely chopped)
- ½ bunch thyme leaves (finely chopped)
- 1 garlic clove (crushed)
Combine the first 8 blackened salmon ingredients together in a small bowl.
Spread the blackening seasonings on top of the salmon.
Place the salmon in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
While the salmon is in the refrigerator, prepare the lemon dill compound butter by adding all of the ingredients to a medium bowl.
Combine well.
Preheat the grill to medium. Place the salmon, skin side down on the grill for 6-8 minutes.
Remove the salmon from the grill, top with the compound butter. Allow the butter to melt over the salmon like a sauce.
This recipe would be delicious served with Cajun Potatotes or Buffalo Potato Salad!

OBSESSED with this recipe! Can’t get enough of it. If using smaller pieces, use less seasoning and be cautious if you don’t like high salt. The lemon butter is perfection and completes it so beautifully. This is my go to recipe and I literally make it for anyone who enjoys salmon!
