This grilled salmon recipe is topped with delicious homemade Korean BBQ sauce. It’s easy to make and only takes 30 minutes to prepare and grill!
When it comes to this Korean BBQ Sauce, I literally can’t get enough of it! It started on Slow Cooked Meatballs for Super Bowl, then went to Slow Cooked Chicken for Tacos (OMG, seriously, a MUST MAKE!)
Now I decided that it was time to take my new favorite sauce to the grill!
I glazed the sauce over salmon on the grill and it turned out amazing!
Korean BBQ Grilled Salmon Ingredients
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup mirin
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 ½ tbsp chili paste
- ½ tbsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- ½ tbsp fresh ginger (grated)
- 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1 green onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 lb salmon
Korean BBQ Grilled Salmon Instructions
In a large saucepan combine the first 11 ingredients of the BBQ sauce and bring to a boil, cook 5-7 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch and water. Add this mixture to the boiling sauce. Whisk to combine well, reduce heat to medium and cook 3-4 minutes. Turn the heat off and set the sauce aside to cool.
Light the grill and bring to a medium-high heat.
Place the salmon in a foil basket and pour half of the Korean BBQ sauce over the salmon. Reserve the other half of the sauce for later.
Place the salmon on the grill.
Grill for 20-30 minutes.
Remove from the grill and top with the remaining BBQ sauce. You can also add a sprinkling of sesame seeds if you’d like!
I decided to keep this dish on the light and summery side by serving it over a bed of chopped romaine lettuce, but it would also be delicious served over rice!
