Made this recipe and added mini chocolate chips and slivered almonds. Just put in the freezer. Judging from the taste prior to freezing, it’s going to be a hit! My husband is going to be so happy, and secretly me too 😊 Thank you for your delicious recipe!!
I want to have a chocolate malt flavor. Would it be better to mix the malt powder into the chocolate mixture or whip it with the heavy cream?
Thanks for your help.
Hi Nanine, I would mix it in with the cocoa powder and condensed milk. Enjoy!
Whitney,
I found this post on Pinterest and am so glad I did. I work at a community meals program and we were given 7 cases of gently expired heavy cream. I had no idea what to do with it all -and quickly. This has been a lifesaver! They all ask for ice cream and, until now, I had no way to fulfill that want. Thank you!
I would love more flavor recipes! Strawberry or other watery fruits? Peanut butter?
Thank you from me and the food insecure in MA!
Hi Brianne, your comment just made my day! I’m so happy that my recipe was able to provide a sweet treat for your community!
I also have a Salted Caramel version of the recipe on the blog. While I haven’t tried it myself, I would think you could combine the condensed milk, 1/2 cup peanut butter (instead of the cocoa), vanilla and salt together to create a peanut butter version. I’ll definitely work on some more recipes soon and will be sure to let you know when they’re up on the blog!
Thank you again for sharing your story with me!
Hi Brianne, just wanted to update you and let you know that I made a Peanut Butter version of this recipe and already posted it on the blog! You can find it here: https://whitneybond.com/peanut-butter-ice-cream/
My kids are going to love this recipe!
