Yesterday marked the first day of the Chinese New Year, and I celebrated by whipping up this Sriracha Steak Fried Rice recipe!
It’s everything you want in a Chinese recipe at home, quick, easy and delicious! The entire recipe is made in one pan, and in only 15 minutes!
I love the kick of Sriracha for spice and flavor, and you can’t beat adding steak to a simple weeknight dinner!
- 2 tbsp sesame oil (divided)
- 1 cup onion (diced)
- 2 cups frozen peas
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 eggs
- 1 lb skirt steak (sliced)
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated) or ½ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ cup sriracha
- 4 cups cooked white rice
- ¼ cup green onions (chopped)
Heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the onions and peas. Cook 4-5 minutes, then add the garlic.
Cook for 1 minute then move the vegetables to one side of the pan and crack the eggs in the other side.
Scramble the eggs, then combine with the vegetables.
Move the vegetables and eggs to one side of the pan. Add the additional tablespoon of sesame oil to the other side of the pan. Add the steak and cook for 1-2 minutes, until seared on the outside.
Add the soy sauce, ginger and Sriracha. Mix everything together.
Add the rice, combine everything and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
Add the green onions and serve.
