It’s Christmas week! Woo hoo! A time for family, watching Home Alone and eating all the bread and cheese!! Carbs don’t count during Christmas week, right?! 😉

Two weeks ago I headed up to Big Bear, a cute little mountain town northeast of San Diego, with the husband and friends to celebrate my birthday. On the way home, we decided to stop in the wine country area of Temecula for a little lunch and wine tasting!

My husband kept going on and on about this baked brie in a bread bowl he’d had at a winery a few years ago. I did a quick google search and found the Maurice Car’rie Winery. Sure enough, first thing when you walk in the door, there’s a little old lady at a table selling these famous Baked Brie Bread Bowls.

All I could think was “this is amazing” and “how did I not think of this before?!” After all, it couldn’t be a total coincidence that a round of brie cheese just so happens to fit perfectly in a round sourdough loaf, right?! 😉

While the Maurice Car’rie Winery made their Baked Brie Bread Bowl on the savory side with herbs and lots and lots and lots of roasted garlic, I decided to come home and recreate this recipe on the sweet side!

I love the combination of caramelized pears,  brie cheese and honey, so this combo for the Baked Brie Bread Bowl was a no-brainer!

I dare you to say “Baked Brie Bread Bowl” 5 times as fast as you can… go… babadababidaba, yeah, that’s basically what happens, haha!
