I’ve been a huge fan of adding blackberries to new recipes lately… and by lately I mean just yesterday I posted a recipe for Blackberry Jalapeno Pulled Pork Tacos (Yes, YUM!)
So when my new friends at the Oregon Raspberry & Blackberry Commission reached out about creating a smoothie recipe with their delicious berries, I couldn’t wait to head into the kitchen and get blending!
For this recipe, I combined their Marion Blackberries (named after Marion County, Oregon!) with acai to create a smoothie packed with antioxidants!
Did you know that Marion blackberries have more antioxidants than blueberries? Well, if you didn’t, now you do 😉
In addition to acai, I also added flaxseed to the smoothie, both of which add a great boost of fiber and Omega-3s to the recipe!
- ½ cup Frozen Oregon Marion Blackberries
- 3.5 oz Frozen Acai
- 1 banana
- ¾ cup almond milk
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp flax seed
Add all of the ingredients to a blender.
Blend until smooth.
This recipe makes one 16 oz smoothie.
It’s creamy, berry deliciousness in the form of a healthy, antioxidant-filled smoothie!
