Halloween snack board with small bowls of snacks and cookies

For many years, I’ve invited neighbors and friends to come over for pumpkin chili, sweet treats, and pumpkin carving before Halloween. It’s such a fun tradition and this year I’ll be sharing this sweet and salty Halloween snack board at the party!

The best part about this snack board is that you don’t actually have to cook anything! That’s right, for those of you that want to bring something cute and tasty to a party, but don’t know how to bake, this is the perfect snack board for you.

It’s filled with sweet and salty snacks and cookies, all found at Target! I put together a list of everything I used to make this board, so you can easily add everything to your cart and pick it up on your next Target run!

This board is easy to toss together in just 10 minutes! And if you want to add some homemade treats, I’ve listed a few ideas below.

What you’ll need

I purchased everything for this Halloween snack board (including the board itself!) at Target. I put together a list of everything I used to make this board, so you can easily add everything to your cart and pick it up on your next Target run!

  • Cookies – for this board, I added pumpkin cheesecake sandwich cookies, mini frosted sugar cookies and jack-o-lantern sandwich Halloween cookies.
  • Pretzels – for a sweet and salty addition, I added pumpkin spice frosted mini pretzels, pumpkin spice pretzel rods, hocus pocus milk chocolate dipped pretzel rods and marbled mummy white chocolate dipped pretzel rods.
  • Popcorn – for the sweet fans, I added caramel apple caramel corn. And for the salty fans, I added stuffing flavored popcorn.
  • Trail mix – the scarecrow crunch trail mix is a combination of peanuts, peanut butter candies, milk chocolate marshmallow bits and chocolate covered cereal squares (also known as muddy buddies). This mix is so delicious and probably my favorite snack on the whole board!
  • Candy – I added Monster crunchy clusters candy to this board, but any of your favorite Halloween candies can also be added. Candy corn, peanut butter cups, M&M’s, or other small candies would all be great additions to the board.
  • Chips – to add another salty element to the board, I added orange and black Halloween tortilla chips.

For the board itself, I used a large board that’s 18 inches round. I added four small Halloween-themed bowls for the popcorn, candy, chips, trail mix, and mini pretzels.

How to build it

  1. Place the six small bowls around the board with space around each bowl. Place one bowl right in the middle of the board.
  2. Add the trail mix, candy clusters, tortilla chips, mini pretzels, caramel apple caramel corn, and stuffing flavored popcorn to each of the six separate bowls.
  3. Arrange the pretzel rods in two different places on the board before bowls.
  4. Arrange the cookies between the remaining bowls to fill the rest of the space on the boards.

Tips and tricks

If you’re making the snack board in advance, simply wrap it tightly with plastic wrap to keep the snacks fresh. You can go ahead and assemble all of the ingredients on the board up to 24 hours in advance.

This Halloween snack board is really large and can feed 10 people or more, depending on what else you’re serving. You can also cut the ingredients in half if you’re making it for a smaller crowd.
