French Onion Pot Roast Recipe
This pot roast recipe can be made in a slow cooker or pressure cooker.
To make a pressure cooker pot roast, add butter and onions to the pressure cooker and saute for 4-5 minutes. Rub the beef roast with French Onion Dip seasoning mix, then add to the pressure cooker and sear. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the pressure cooker, turn the pressure cooker setting to high for 60 minutes.
Once the cooking time is up, allow 15-20 minutes for the steam to release, then open the pressure cooker and shred the beef.
To make a slow cooker pot roast, add the butter and onions to a large skillet on the stove over medium-high heat. After 4-5 minutes, add the beef roast, rubbed with French Onion Dip seasoning to the skillet and sear for 1-2 minutes per side. Transfer the beef and onions to a slow cooker, add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
Set the slow cooker to high for 6 hours or to low for 10-12 hours. Once the cooking time is complete, remove the lid and shred the beef before serving.

Love to hear that Gracie Lou! We replicated the recipe yesterday with a pork loin (because that’s what we had in the freezer!) and it was also delicious!
One of the absolute best recipes for chuck roast. The flavors were spot on. Everyone in the family loved it and I had enough for leftovers.
