Don’t get me wrong, once a year I like to head to the fair and totally indulge on foods that I would never think about eating anywhere else! But on the blog I’m all about grilling instead of frying!

Grilled Pork Tenderloin Skewers

This recipe was inspired by my recent trip to Washington DC. On our last night in town we ate at this great Spanish Tapas restaurant, La Tasca. One of my tapas selections was their Pork Belly with Shallots and Apples.

I decided to trade out the pork belly for my new favorite cut of pork, the tenderloin, and skewer the delicious meat with the apples and shallots.

I marinated the pork in two of my favorite herbs, rosemary and sage.

On a random side note, why don’t we use sage more often? I feel like it only peaks its head out during Thanksgiving time. Well, I love it and I plan to make it a household staple year round, starting with this recipe!

Pork Tenderloin Skewers Ingredients

Rosemary Sage Pork Skewers Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage
  • 1 tsp steak seasoning
  • 1 lb pork tenderloin
  • 2 shallots
  • 2 red apples

Rosemary Sage Pork Skewers Instructions

In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Add the rosemary, sage and steak seasoning.

Slice the pork tenderloin into cubes.

Place the pork in the marinade and into the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

In the meantime, slice the apples and shallots.

Skewer the pork, apples and shallots onto 8 skewers.

Heat a grill (or grill pan) to medium heat and grill for 5-6 minutes.

Rotate then grill for an additional 5-6 minutes.
