How To Make Sausage Balls with Cream Cheese

To make this easy, cheesy sausage ball recipe, combine pork sausage with cream cheese and cheddar cheese. Form into balls and sear in a skillet on the stove or in the oven. Add them to a slow cooker and cover in buffalo sauce. Slow cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1-2 hours.

Absolutely! You can mix all of the ingredients together, form the balls and sear them on the stove, or in the oven, the night before, then add them to the slow cooker with the buffalo sauce the next day.

Can sausage balls be reheated?

Yes. If you want to reheat them quickly, they can be reheated in the microwave, or you can add them back to the slow cooker on low to reheat them.

Buffalo Cheesy Sausage Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 12 oz buffalo sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine the sausage, cream cheese and cheddar cheese in a large bowl.
  2. Form into 18-20 balls.
  3. Place a large pot or dutch oven on the stove over medium heat.

  4. Add the sausage balls and sear on each side for 1-2 minutes or until lightly browned.

  5. Once all of the balls are cooked through, transfer them to a slow cooker, then pour the buffalo sauce over the sausage balls.

  6. Slow cook on low 3-4 hours, or on high 1-2 hours.

Recipe Notes

Instead of searing the balls in a pot on the stove, you can also sear them in the oven. Preheat oven to 375°F, place the sausage balls on a foil lined cookie sheet and into the oven for 15 minutes before adding them to the slow cooker.
